After his best friend, Enkidu, dies, Gilgamesh suffers such grief, he is “as a man who wanders too far from home; like a ghost that will not go down.” Here he is rowing to see Utnapishtim to talk about eternal life. Spoiler: turns out there isn’t any. Having said that, I’m still talking about Gilgamesh, so maybe in that respect.

Hi Noah,
I would like to purchase the painting entitled ‘As a ghost that will not go down’ from you.
I understand the price is $150.
‘Why am i awake’
the hardest question of all- this thing called consciousness- no?
Noah says
Hi Rob,
It’s yours! I’ll put a red dot on there for you. I’m sending you an email with details. As the father of a ten-week old, the question “Why am I awake?” has particular relevance. More in a sec. Noah
